Many of us have very busy lives yet seem to never have any money for summer fun. This should not be a reason to not have a fun and productive summer 🌞. Below you can find a few ideas written about and a large amount of additional ideas 💡 in the links and videos.
Get outdoors and find a walking tour. A quick Google search on most large cities will yield walking tours of particularly charming local architecture in neighborhoods. If you can’t find one, search for interesting destinations within walking distance of each other and craft your own. Theme events and bars and restaurants totally count as interesting destinations.
Get even more healthy and go for a hike. It is great and walking is free, and walking in nature is great to lift your spirits breath fresh air and for many a change of regular scenery. Depending on where you live, you might have to drive or pay park fees, which aren’t free, but look for a little spot of any type of nature, that you can amble in that’s closer to your home.
Check a community calendar for free events. Many of cities and towns hold free movie nights, block parties and more during the summer months. Check online or in a local paper whether you travel or stay closer to home.
As a point of interest my local town has Puddle Jumper Days

Read in a hammock or under a tree. If you’ve got your own, hammock, put it up in your backyard or a local park, grab a great summer novel and enjoy a few hours swinging and reading.
Take some awesome photographs. I really like this tip. Spring and summer and even into fall is a great time to go for a walk. It can even be just simply in your backyard and take fantastic pictures of nature trees animals cloud formations anything that takes your fancy. An added benefit to taking a lot of images is you can use them in your Instagram or Facebook whatever social media outlet you use for photography. 📷
Picnic don’t have to cost tons of cash and buying food or special “picnic” can be fun in itself. It doesn’t require you make it stressful, another option is just grab some snacks from the pantry and an old blanket and go sit and enjoy nature at a favorite place.
Indulge in a free museum day or zoo day. Look online to see if any museums offer free days a week or a month and go early to enjoy art and culture for free.

Read the Label
If your planning a trip. Beware of hotels or airlines labeled “top picks” in your search results. These aren’t necessarily of a higher quality or better value. Instead, they are often a business partner of the booking site, and therefore get populated at the top of your search. Often they are affiliate links as well.

Watch a TED talk. This is another one of my favorite hobbies any time of the year. TED is a nonprofit organization that shares short, approximately 15-minute videos ranging from science to business to global issues. There’s a topic out there for everyone.

Learn a completely new language. I highly recommend starting with Duolingo. It’s an app that provides free language tutoring through a series of activities and exercises. It offers a wide variety of languages such as Spanish, German, Greek, Swahili, among many others.
Start a bucket list and cross off one item every week. The items added don’t have to be spectacular and nearly unattainable, they can be little things, too. In other words, I’m not expecting you to go skydiving, swim with sharks, and go on a cruise all in one month.
There’s an endless amount of volunteering opportunities offered throughout every major city in the country. For example, many hospitals will accept volunteers, as well as organizations in most communities such as Feed, My Starving Children, or the Ronald McDonald House. Most positions only require an application but be sure to check for minimum requirements such as age or experience.
